Metro

I traveled from Chandni Chowk to Kalighat at around 20:00 hours today. Office to Home Rush! I was sandwiched between a couple of men,as I could not make my way in to the Ladies Section. My nostrils are still burning with the smell of sweat, Deos and colognes! Kolkata Metro- The most "convenient" way to travel.......if only it were true!

Maqbool Fida Husain

First and foremost my sincere condolensces to the departed soul of one of the most vibrant painters of your times. however it is not possible for me to overlook the reactions that have come in as the news of his demise spread. Though India's Prime Minister has stated that Husain's death is a "national loss"( how is that even possible since the biased criticism of his "character", had forced him to go in a self-exile from 2006), many are of a different opinion. as soon as i got the news of his death i checked the interent for reactions. the comment board of most of the popular sites were already full. some expressed their condolences while others were a bit too harsh. some or rather the majority of the comments express happines if not relief over his demise. some say that they are anything but sorry that he passed away while one man even goes to the extent of saying that he is not a hindu but this is good news!!!!! what i want to draw attention to here is the nature of people. it's good that people can speak their heart out (Democracy...ha ha), but isnt it a bit too insensitive? i mean a bunch of hindu fanatics at one point of time pinpointed one of Husain's work, which led to the judgement of his character and eventually the man had to leave the nation which he loved till his last breath. the stupidity of people and that the opinion of a particular section can govern the thought process of the majority of the people are amazing! i am sure those who expressed pleasure when M.F.Husain passed away did not know him personally. neither did I! so i keep an unbiased point of view and express my sympathy at the decease of an artist and an enthusiast. what do you think? what is your opinion regarding this?

anyone?

please people come up with topics of discussion that will interest all! i am clueless as to how to start so I am leaving it up to you guys. go ahead and color my blog with your ideas!
